Our History
Above the altar hangs an original oil painting titled The Presentation in the Temple, a significant piece that has remained in place since the building’s earliest days as a Catholic girls’ school and convent. Painted by an Italian artist, the work depicts the moment in which the infant Jesus is presented in the temple in Jerusalem and recognized by St. Simeon as the Messiah. Framed in rich wood and anchored in devotion, the painting continues to serve as a spiritual centerpiece in the former chapel. Though the building has taken on new life as a hotel, the presence of this artwork preserves a quiet sense of reverence, offering guests a glimpse into the property’s sacred origins.
