Custom Scent & Vessel Pouring
The Experience:
Teams learn the science of 100% natural soy wax, blend premium phthalate-free fragrance oils to create a signature "Corporate Scent," and pour them into custom vessels. Led by Frederick’s boutique studio, Live Young Candles. Available as a pop-up in our private event space, or as a private buyout of their nearby East Street shop.
The Takeaway:
A fully cured, custom-branded candle to take home. Branded label with their company’s logo on it.
Sip & Script Calligraphy & Branding Workshop
The Experience:
An upscale, modern calligraphy class hosted in the Cloister Room or private courtyard tent. While sipping local wines, teams learn the art of pointed-pen calligraphy, transitioning into a lighthearted team challenge where they design an original font or a stylized mission statement for their company.
Historic Brick & Mortar Pottery Throwdown
The Experience:
Led by Frederick Clay, a local Carroll Creek pottery studio, this high-energy workshop challenges teams to get their hands dirty. After a master
demonstration, teams compete in a "blind wheel" challenge or collaborate on a permanent mosaic piece to be fired and hung in their corporate office.

The Clustered Spires Historical Scavenger Hunt
A customized, high-tech scavenger hunt winding through Frederick's historic 50-block downtown district, starting at the hotel. Teams crack riddles based on Civil War history, seek out hidden architectural details along Carroll Creek Linear Park, and stop for quick "photo challenges" outside iconic landmarks like the Francis Scott Key monument.
The Carroll Creek Cardboard Boat Regatta
Mirroring River House's riverfront programming, teams are given raw materials (cardboard, duct tape, eco-friendly sealant) and tasked with engineering a functional watercraft. The challenge culminates in a hilarious, highstakes race or float test along the banks of Carroll Creek.
Catoctin Mountain Wilderness & Survival Trek
Just 20 minutes north of the hotel sits Catoctin Mountain Park, home to Camp David. Arrange a private guided hike led by local wilderness experts. The trek can incorporate a light survivalist challenge navigating by compass, building a primitive shelter, or sourcing clean water—fostering deep trust and communication out in nature.

Chefs Bryan and Michael Voltaggio craft a bespoke, hyper-seasonal menu celebrating Mid-Atlantic ingredients.
